Authorised Agent Enquiries

Definition of 'Authorised Agent Enquiries'

If you authorise a credit provider to look at your credit report, these are recorded as ‘Authorised Agent Enquiries’ on your credit report. Authorised Agent Enquiries don’t affect your ability to get credit.

This type of search stays on your credit report for 5 years. They can be viewed by all credit providers checking your credit report afterwards.

Prior to 12 March 2014, if you authorised someone other than a credit provider to look at your credit report, these were also classified as Authorised Agent Enquiries, but after that date these searches were converted to be recorded as a 'File Access', which can only be viewed by you and an ‘Access Seeker’.

If you now authorise someone other than a credit provider to look at your credit report, this will also be recorded on your credit report as a File Access.
